Breathing support used during sleep when overnight ventilation is not strong enough without assistance.
Meaning in FKRP
Nocturnal ventilatory support refers to noninvasive or other assisted ventilation used during sleep, often after sleep-disordered breathing, hypoventilation, or progressive respiratory weakness is identified. In FKRP-related disease, some cohorts report nighttime respiratory support before wheelchair dependency.
